Interesting Fact: Heidi Widmer’s older brother Philip competed in cross-country skiing for Canada in Turin 2006. Watching her brother compete was what sparked her Olympic dream.

Chances: One of the best sprint specialists on the Canadian team, Widmer is not considered a likely medal recipient in Sochi. At the age of 22, she has a long career ahead of her. Making her Olympic debut in Sochi will likely be a beneficial experience.
