SASKATOON – Saskatoon police have concluded their investigation after a car left the Circle Drive North Bridge and entered the South Saskatchewan River on Monday.
Police collision analysts and patrol members determined that the driver lost control due to icy road conditions causing the car to collide with the center barrier on the bridge.

Alcohol and the vehicle’s speed were not factors.
Investigators say the car then travelled across the eastbound lanes and ended up on top of a guardrail.
A build-up of ice and snow along the guardrail contributed to the vehicle leaving the bridge.
The vehicle landed on river ice, allowing the lone occupant enough time to escape before the car sank.
