SASKATOON – Police are investigating Saskatoon’s first murder of 2014.
Around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, police received a 911 call stating that a child was injured at a residence in the 400-block of Avenue R South in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood.

When they arrived, officers found a five-year-old boy who was pronounced dead.
Three other people were in the residence at the time.

Major crime investigators are currently interviewing witnesses and forensic investigators are examining the scene.
A person of interest has been identified.
Police are not releasing any further details at this time.
