Mounties in Coquitlam are looking for any potential witnesses of a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run involving an 89-year-old woman.
It happened just before 2 p.m. this afternoon at a home based acupuncture business on Austin Avenue and Schoolhouse Street.
The suspect left the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital, but has since passed away.
Yves Chu says the victim is her grandmother, who used to greet people at the acupuncture business.
Eyewitness Trevor Steward says he heard the woman scream. He then tried to check on her vital signs and perform CPR after he saw her struck.
Steward says it looks like the driver may not have realized they hit someone.

He says his friend tried running after the car, but the driver did not seem to react.
