UPDATE: Police confirm the body of a 32-year-old man was discovered on the sidewalk in the 100-block of Highway 33.
“The death was deemed to be suspicious in nature and the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit is investigating,” according to Cst. Kris Clark with the Kelowna RCMP. The victim’s identity is not being released until next of kin is notified.

KELOWNA — Police have lined a series of businesses with yellow tape along the 100-block of on Highway 33 in Kelowna’s Rutland neighbourhood.
There is visible evidence of blood at the scene.

RCMP have yet to release details on what happened but can confirm the incident occurred at 2 a.m. Saturday morning.
Police are on scene using forensic mapping equipment as part of their investigation. A helicopter drone is also taking aerial shots of the scene.
The crime tape has also cordoned off Cedars Family Restaurant on Rutland Road.
