Two-time World Champion.
First player ever to be granted “exceptional status” by the OHL, allowing him to compete in the league as a 15-year-old.

Interesting Fact: Tavares was a star in lacrosse as well as hockey growing up. His uncle, also named John, is the National Lacrosse League’s all-time leading scorer.
