On June 14, 1,400 runners will get to race on the 14,000 foot runway—which just so happens to be the longest in Canada.

“I think that’s awesome,” said Calgary’s Dave Defries. “It would be pretty cool. Planes buzzing overhead, getting a sweat on.”

If running isn’t your thing, you can still roam around on the runway on June 15, when up to 10-thousand people are invited to preview the new landing strip. Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod of BodyBreak fame will also be on hand.
