PC MPP Randy Hillier has held this riding since it was created for the 2007 election, winning a close race that year. Prior to that, parts of the riding were in different eastern Ontario districts, which tended to support the PCs and Liberals equally over the years.
By the numbers
English was the mother tongue for 93.5 per cent of people, according to the last census, the highest number in the province. The riding is 8,516 square kilometres, the third largest in southern Ontario.
