WATCH ABOVE: While the Montreal Canadians celebrated their win against rivals the Boston Bruins, there was an ugly incident during the post-game handshake that has a lot of people shaking their heads. Mike Armstrong reports.
TORONTO — It was a hard fought contest between two bitter rivals so it seems only fitting that the post-series handshake between the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins ended with reports of personal threats.
After the Canadiens beat the Bruins 3-1 in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinal, Habs forward Dale Weise was working his way through the customary handshake when Bruins forward Milan Lucic uttered a few choice words for Weise.

Video of the exchange shows Lucic directing comments at Weise and teammate Alexei Emelin, who was also reportedly threatened.

The Canadiens will go on to face the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference finals, while the league-leading Bruins will hit the golf course.

Lucic’s comments, whatever they were, could be a result of the forward’s frustration at having registered just a single point in the last five games against Montreal.

Following the game both Weise and Lucic spoke about the bad blood between the rivals.
“Milan Lucic had a few things to say to a couple of guys,” said Weise, without going into detail.
Lucic refused to apologize, saying, “It’s said on the ice so it’ll stay on the ice. If (Weise) wants to be a baby about it — he can make it public.”
The series marked the 34th contest in the long-standing rivalry between the Bruins and Canadiens.
The last time the two teams met in the post-season was in the 2011 Eastern Conference quarter-finals, where the Bruins won 4-3.
