Consisting the southern half of its namesake city, this suburban riding is bordered by Highway 7 to the south, Highway 404 to the east, Bathurst to the west, and Gamble and Elgin Mill to the north.

The riding has been Liberal ever since it was created before the 2007 election, going to Reza Moridi by around 5000 votes both times. The Tories have had most success in the eastern and northern edges of the district.

By the numbers
English is the first language of just 42.3% of people, the lowest number of any riding in York. Otherwise, Richmond Hill is a fairly average “905” riding when it comes to age, household composition, and income.
