SASKATOON – A proposed pilot project that would replace parking stalls in downtown Saskatoon with bike lanes has been put on hold by city council.
The 18-month pilot project would have seen protected bike lanes installed on 24th Street East and 4th Avenue with the loss of dozens of parking stalls.

The move was opposed by a number of business owners who feared the loss of the parking stalls would impact their businesses.
After a long debate at council Tuesday evening, councillors voted to do further study on the impact of the project.
