Canadian Bankers Association ups reward for info on ‘Vaulter Bandit’

TORONTO – The Canadian Bankers Association is increasing its reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect known as the ‘Vaulter Bandit.’

The man is accused of robbing at least 17 banks in the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa and Calgary dating back several years.

During the robberies the suspect is known to hurdle over the counters and demand cash.

He’s often armed with a handgun.

On Wednesday the Canadian Bankers Association increased its reward from $20,000 to $50,000.

The suspect is described as white, athletic and in his 40s or 50s.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
