REGINA – Crop insurance claims are starting to pour in after last week’s torrential rain in eastern Saskatchewan.
Saskatchewan Crop Insurance says 200 claims have been made so far, but many more are expected once fields dry up and inspectors assess the damage.

A Canadian Wheat Board official says losses in eastern Saskatchewan and western Manitoba are expected to be more than 600 million dollars.
Board analyst Bruce Burnet says the rain has cut production by three to four million tonnes of grain.
