MONTREAL – Technology-based Amaya Gaming Group Inc. said Monday that its revenues jumped 275 per cent to $3.77 million in its second quarter due to sales of its text messaging lotto tickets in Kenya.
However, Amaya reported a net loss of $1.1 million for the quarter, compared with a $58,751 profit in the same quarter last year.

“The majority of our revenue growth was attributable to the operation of the SMS Lottery in the republic of Kenya for its first full quarter,” said David Baazov, Amaya’s president and CEO.
Amaya (TSXV:AYA).said the daily peak of SMS lotto ticket has surpassed 200,000 SMS lotto tickets sold in a day.

The Montreal-based company recorded a loss of three cents per share versus a loss of seven cents per share in the same period in 2010.
Amaya is involved in the design, development, manufacturing, distribution and sale of technology-based gaming solutions for the regulated gaming industry worldwide.
