CÔTE-DES-NEIGES- Anglo rights activist and former Equality Party leader Robert Libman officially launched his bid for the federal Conservative nomination in the riding of Mount Royal Thursday night.
Supporters gathered at the Ruby Foos hotel in Côte-des-Neiges.

Libman’s launch was held almost exactly 25 years after the night that the Equality Party, founded by Robert Libman, elected four members to the National Assembly.
Libman has a tough road ahead of him. The Mount Royal riding has been a Liberal bastion for the past 75 years.

The 53-year-old Libman is confident he can win in the diverse riding.
“I’ve always been inspired by Stephen Harper’s leadership. Whether it’s his economic stewardship or his leadership on international affairs, the Middle East question; I felt this was the time to throw my hat in the ring.”
The riding includes Côte Saint-Luc, Hampstead, Côte-des-Neiges, Snowdon and TMR.
