29-year-old man identified as victim in Surrey homicide

VANCOUVER – The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says a man who was shot on Saturday, Sept. 20, has been identified as 29 year old Birinder Khangura.

IHIT says witnesses saw a white minivan leaving the scene at the time shots were heard in the 14500-block of 83A Avenue. At about 12:30 a.m. a white Pontiac Montana was found in an alley in the 8300-block of 141 Street. It had been abandoned and on fire.

Khangura was found deceased in his truck.

“Mr. Khangura does not have a criminal record. In this early stage we believe this was a targeted shooting,” says Staff Sergeant Jennifer Pound.
