FREDERICTON – The leader of the People’s Alliance of New Brunswick says he’ll seek a recount in the riding where he unsuccessfully ran for a legislature seat in last week’s provincial election.
Kris Austin lost to Progressive Conservative candidate Pam Lynch by 26 votes in Fredericton-Grand Lake.

Austin went to the Court of Queen’s Bench in Fredericton today to file an application for a recount, but still has to get some documents in order.
He says he now expects to apply for the recount on Tuesday.

Austin says he doesn’t expect much change in the final outcome but questions have been raised about the accuracy of the vote count and public confidence in the system needs to be restored.
A software glitch has been blamed for a lengthy delay posting results on election night, prompting calls for an audit of the results.
