TORONTO – Paul Ainslie was reelected in Ward 43 Scarborough East winning 74 per cent of the vote.
Ainslie won his seat in a landslide victory in 2010, securing over 60 per cent of the votes. In May 2013, Ainslie revealed that he had his driving licence suspended for three days after registering a warning level on a roadside breathalyser test.
“I haven’t been charged with any offence and I felt to be a responsible city councillor, to be responsible to my family, and to be responsible in particular to the residents of Ward 43 that elected me, that I make a statement.”

In July 2014, Mayor Rob Ford issued an apology for critical robocalls sent to Ainslie’s Scarborough ward. Ford bombarded the ward with robocalls and said it was “extremely unfortunate” Ainslie didn’t vote for the Bloor-Danforth extension and said he “led the charge” against building the subway.
