Person killed near Regent Park, nearby schools in hold and secure

TORONTO – After a fatal shooting in Etobicoke early Monday afternoon, another person has been killed near Regent Park.

The man was shot at approximately 2:45 p.m. near Parliament Street and Shuter Street.

The victim was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Nearby Nelson Mandela Public School and St. Paul had been placed in hold and secure but both were opened up shortly after 5 p.m.

The shooting in Regent Park is the second fatal shooting in the span of three hours in Toronto. An unidentified person was shot and killed near Don Bosco Catholic Secondary School in Etobicoke shortly after 12:30 p.m.
