TORONTO – Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly easily held on to Ward 40, Scarborough-Agincourt during Monday’s municipal election picking up 85 per cent of the vote.
Kelly is currently serving as the city’s acting deputy mayor following Mayor Rob Ford’s leave of absence from Toronto City Council in May. Kelly was first granted mayoral powers from Ford shortly after the controversial figure admitted to substance abuse in November 2013.

Earlier this year, Kelly endorsed Liberal leader Kathleen Wynne in the provincial election.
“The city needs a city-friendly leader. This province needs a city-friendly premier. Kathleen, that leader is you,” Kelly said.
In the 2010 Toronto election, Kelly grabbed 74 per cent of the vote in Ward 40.
