Henry Braun becomes new mayor of Abbotsford

Abbotsford city councillor Henry Braun will serve as the city’s mayor after defeating incumbent Bruce Banman in Saturday’s civic election.

Braun, who tallied 51 per cent of the vote, narrowly defeated Banman, who ran on a platform of fiscal responsibility. 

A recent poll by Insights West showed that Banman was one of the most popular mayors in B.C.,with a 65 per cent approval rating.
