CARSELAND – Occupational Health and Safety is investigating after a worker was killed while attempting to remove a temporary bridge on the Bow River near Carseland Alberta.
Gleichen RCMP were called to the job site 3 kilo south of highway 901 on Monday around 2:30 p.m..
The victim was working alongside another employee, who was using an excavator to pull cement blocks away from the river.
“It appears the victim was crushed,” Cpl. Richard said in a release.

Carseland is about 65 kilometres southeast of Calgary.
This is the third workplace fatality in Southern Alberta in a week.
A 60-year-old man was killed Thursday November 20th when a concrete wall he was working on fell and crushed him.
30-year-old James Ladino from Edmonton died Wednesday November 19th following a workplace accident in Cranston. Ladino was struck by machinery while doing some underground utility work.
