WINNIPEG – Winter enthusiasts packed The Forks Sunday, making the most of the first full day of the new season.
Despite the freezing drizzle and foggy conditions, many went for walks and indulged in outdoor activities, embracing the above seasonal temperatures.
Sunday reached a high of -1 C with winds making it feel like -8 outside.

Normal temperatures for this time of year are about -11, with overnight lows of -22.
Last year was much colder in comparison, with the daytime high at -20.8 and overnight low close to -30 before factoring in the wind chill.
There is a risk of more freezing drizzle Sunday night with conditions remaining cloudy, according to Environment Canada. Temperatures are expected to hover around -1.
