SaskPower employee electrocuted while repairing transmission line

WAKAW, Sask. – A SaskPower employee is dead after a workplace accident Saturday evening. Mounties say it happened around 9:30 p.m. south of Wakaw, Sask.

A Saskatoon man was part of a crew repairing the top wire of a high-voltage transmission line when he was electrocuted. The 45-year-old man was rushed to Rosthern Hospital by paramedics where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.

Provincial health and safety officers and SaskPower safety officials are investigating. RCMP have completed their investigation and say there was no foul play involved.
