Habs’ goalie Carey Price receives Molson Cup for December

MONTREAL — For the third month running, Montreal Canadiens’ goalie Carey Price is the Molson Cup recipient.

He took the honour again in December, after winning it in October and November, finishing ahead of Habs’ teammates Alex Galchenyuk, Andrei Markov and Max Pacioretty.

The 27-year old goaltender showed a 7-4-0 record in 11 games in December, leading all NHL goaltenders with a 1.93 goals against average. He stopped 310 of the 331 shots he faced for a .937 save percentage, ranking tied with Sergei Bobrovsky for first among NHL goaltenders.

Price will be presented with the Molson Cup during a ceremony before the Tuesday, January 6 game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Bell Centre.

The Molson Cup honours distinguished NHL players. After each hockey game, the “three game stars” are chosen. Then, at the end of the season, the player with the most three-star honours is presented with the Molson Cup.
