B.C.’s 12th Man North readies for Seahawks-Packers conference championship

B.C. fans who have dubbed themselves “12th Man North” will be gathering at bars and house parties across the province as the Seattle Seahawks take on the Green Bay Packers in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game.

Many fans will head south to watch the game in person, paying at least $500 for a ticket to CenturyLink Field, according to ticket broker Kingsley Bailey.

Many more will gather at local pubs to watch the defending Super Bowl champions.

“It’s great, you’re seeing a sea of Seahawks jerseys,” says Mathew Kittle of Vancouver’s Red Card Sports Bar. “Everyone’s high-fiving each other. People don’t know each other and they’re coming together like a team and having a good time.”

In Coquitlam, Woody’s Pub is prepping to host Seahawks boosters.

Other spots where people might catch the game include Vancouver’s Doolin’s Irish Pub, The Lamplighter, and Malone’s.

The NFC Championship is set to kick off at 12:05 p.m. local time.
