Drunk driving charge for woman involved in wrong-way Saskatoon crash

SASKATOON – A woman is facing drunk driving charges after a wrong-way crash in Saskatoon. It happened late Wednesday evening on College Drive.

Police were first alerted about a vehicle heading west in the eastbound lane of College in the area of McOrmond Drive around 11:15 p.m.

While heading to the call, responding officers were told two vehicles had crashed on College near McKercher Drive.

Police say the driver of the second vehicle attempted to evade the oncoming vehicle but a collision could not be avoided. No one was injured but both vehicles were significantly damaged.

A 23-year-old woman from Sheho, Sask. has been charged with impaired driving, driving over .08 and possession of marijuana. She is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court in March.
