3 Toronto Police officers accused of sexually assaulting female officer

TORONTO – Three male officers have been suspended with pay after being accused of sexual assault by a fellow officer.

The three officers all work with 51 division at King Street and Parliament Street and have been suspended during the internal investigation.

The three men are accused of sexually assaulting a female parking enforcement officer at an after-work party. No charges have been laid.

Toronto Police Association president Mike McCormack said in an email to Global News that they are aware of the allegations and everyone involved is a member of the union.

“The Toronto Police Association is aware of the sexual assault allegations made against 3 of our officers,” wrote McCormack. “The Officers have been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.”

“In this case, all involved, are members of the Toronto Police Association. We will not be making any further comment until the complaint has been fully investigated.”

He also told CityNews the suspension is not proof of guilt but is instead done to make sure the investigation can continue “unfettered.”
