TORONTO – Kathleen Wynne will meet with the OPP for an interview about the ongoing investigation into the role played by the Ontario Liberal Party in a recent byelection.
She won’t, however, say when the interview is, just that it will happen in the coming months.
“The OPP and my counsel have agreed on a date for my interview to be conducted before the end of April.”

The OPP are investigating allegations that Liberal officials offered Andrew Olivier a job or appointment last year in exchange for not running in a recent byelection in Sudbury. Former NDP MP Glenn Thibeault ran for the Liberals and won.
Olivier, a quadriplegic, records many of his telephone conversation because he can’t take notes, and released the audio of his conversations with Wynne’s deputy chief of staff, Pat Sorbara, and local Liberal organizer Gerry Lougheed, during which, he claimed, he was offered an appointment to step away from the race.

The OPP had been trying to meet with Wynne about the investigation, but, as Wynne said Tuesday, a scheduling issue has kept that interview from happening.
“It was my counsel and the OPP working to find a time. It’s a scheduling issue,” she said.
No charges have been laid as a result of the investigation.
