PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – Police believe they have the culprit behind a series of purse snatchings in three Saskatchewan communities. Prince Albert police arrested Jessie Gaida, 30, on March 13 for a number of purse snatchings in the northern Saskatchewan city.
Gaida, who is from Dalmeny, is also believed to be responsible for at least one purse snatching on March 8 in Saskatoon and one in Rosthern. He is also accused in a theft from a local Prince Albert business.

He is charged with theft over $5,000, attempted robbery, three counts of theft under $5,000 and four counts of breach of an undertaking in the Prince Albert crime spree.
The offences occurred between Jan. 30 and March 13.
Gaida has made his first court appearance and will be back in Prince Albert provincial court on Wednesday for a bail hearing.
