SASKATOON – Two crowd favourites are coming back to play to a Saskatoon audience. The Roots and Michael Franti are the latest headliners to be announced for the 2015 SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival.
Michael Franti will hit the TD Mainstage at the Bessborough Gardens on June 30. Local act Parab Poet & the Hip Hop Hippies will open the show.
Canada Day will see Grammy award winners The Roots on the stage with a special opening act still to be announced.

On Wednesday, festival organizers announced Erykah Badu and Lights as the first two headliners for the 29th annual festival.

“The lineup thus far is beginning to reflect the diverse and eclectic tastes of our city and province,” said Artistic Director Kevin Tobin.
“It’s only because of the strong community support we receive that we are able to bring world class artists such as these to the festival.”
More acts are expected to be announced in the coming days.
Tickets for the Jazz Festival go on sale March 31 at 10 a.m.
