Kim Kardashian credits Pharrell Williams for putting out dress fire

TORONTO — Kim Kardashian said Tuesday singer Pharrell Williams and his wife Helen Lasichanh came to her aid Monday night when she burst into flames.

The pregnant reality TV star tweeted that her dress caught fire after she attended the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awards gala.

On Instagram, she wrote: “Shout out to Pharrell & Helen! who saved my life last night! LOL After the awards at dinner the feathers of my dress caught on fire from a candle & they jumped on me to get it out!”

Kardashian did not say where the incident happened or how much damage was caused.

Kardashian had presented the CFDA media award to Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom and her husband, rapper Kanye West, presented the icon award to Williams.

The gala at Lincoln Center in New York City also honoured Betsey Johnson, Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen, Tom Ford and the late Oscar de la Renta.
