The Department of Labour says work at the site of the incident has stopped and access to the scene is restricted at this time. Officers have interviewed a number of employees with the diving company, as well as Nova Scotia Power employees who were present at the site when the incident occurred.

“This is a tragic accident,” says Kelly Regan, Minister of Labour and Advanced Education. “My thoughts are with this man’s family, loved ones, and colleagues.”

The man’s name has not been released. His death is the fifth workplace fatality this year.
