TORONTO — Ontario Provincial Police have charged 25 people in connection with an organized crime group that was allegedly distributing illegal drugs in the Timmins, Ont. area.
The yearlong investigation, dubbed Project Ashley, came to a close on Tuesday when investigators executed 10 search warrants in Timmins and one in Niagara Falls.
Police said 15 people had been specifically charged with commission of an offence for a criminal organization. Some of those suspects, along with 10 others, face numerous drug and property related charges.

Police seized more than 2 kg of cocaine, 1.3 kg of marijuana, one “cocaine press” and about $115,000 in cash.

Investigators valued the drugs at about $120,000 and police said 14 vehicles were also seized — including a number of high-end SUVs.
