HALIFAX — There was a pretty unique event taking place through Halifax today – the first ever donair crawl.
King of Donairs on Quinpool Road was the first stop on the crawl. The line up to get inside the resturaunt spilled out into the street well before the event even started.
In total, there are six locations serving up donairs for the event. The woman behind the donair crawl says she is overwhelmed by the response to her idea.

“I was hungry one night and I asked where was the best place in the city to get a donair and I had a ton of responses and my friend said it sounds like your planning a donair crawl and it just kind of stuck with me and I threw the idea out there and this is it,” said Amy Langdon, organizer.

Donations were collected and some of the sales will go directly to local charities in the Halifax area, like the IWK Children’s Hospital and Feed Nova Scotia.
In case you’re wondering — there are already plans in the works to make the donair crawl an annual tradition.
