Woman charged with cocaine trafficking in North Battleford

A 38-year-old woman is facing charges after being apprehended in North Battleford, Sask. Friday. RCMP initially responded to an assault complaint at around 8:10 a.m. in the 1600-block of 102nd Street.

The suspect was arrested in relation to the assault call as well as an outstanding warrant.

Battlefords RCMP says a quantity of cocaine was also seized.

Further investigation has resulted in Faye Bitternose being charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. She is scheduled to make her first court appearance Sept. 14.
