REGINA – A semi-tractor carrying upwards of 2500 piglets rolled into a ditch just east of Wolseley on Tuesday morning.

The semi unit carrying two-week-old pigs swerved to avoid a moose, causing the truck to lose control and roll onto its side in the ditch.

The impact from the collision caused the livestock trailer to break open, allowing numerous piglets to escape onto the highway.

Due to the impact of the trailer rolling, some of the piglets died.
