HALIFAX – A pulp mill in northern Nova Scotia is coming under close scrutiny for its pollution emissions.
The Nova Scotia government says recent tests at Northern Pulp near Pictou show its emissions are above acceptable limits.

The Environment Department has issued a directive saying the company must complete an independent assessment of its power boiler system.
The department says the evaluation must include recommendations for modifications needed to lower emissions.
