Saint-Jacques exit reopens

MONTREAL – The St. Jacques exit from Highway 720 West reopened Wednesday at 5 a.m., offering a little relief to NDG, Westmount and Saint-Henri commuters and residents.

The exit had been closed since August due to work on the new Turcot interchange, causing major traffic headaches.

Other streets in the area like, Glen Rd. and de Courcelle St. are still closed for a month or two.

More work is still ahead, though.

“We will be closing the access from the 20 to Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue because we will be rebuilding the Montreal West interchange,” said Sarah Bensadoun, spokesperson for Transports Quebec.

That closure will start Dec. 13 and will remain in effect until 2019.
