Assault suspects expected to turn themselves over to Saskatoon police

SASKATOON – Two men wanted for their alleged involvement in a violent attack caught on camera are expected to turn themselves in to police Monday. The Saskatoon Police Service issued warrants for brothers and former Saskatchewan Huskies football players Darren Hinds, 28, and Darcy Hinds, 25, earlier this week.

A video that was circulated on social media shows two men repeatedly punching and kicking two other men in the 900-block of Central Avenue on Nov. 28. After surfacing Dec. 5, the video has received more than 60,000 hits.

The victims suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Police identified the Hinds brothers as suspects in the assaults.

The men were in Alberta Friday, planning to arrive in Saskatoon on Monday to turn themselves in, according to their lawyer, Brian Pfefferle.

Both suspects face two charges of aggravated assault. Darren Hinds also faces a charge of uttering threats to cause death.
