Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau capped off a speech at an Ottawa Martin Luther King Day celebration by singing a short song.
She wrote it for her daughter, Ella-Grace, she said. And Grégoire-Trudeau, wife of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, said that she didn’t plan on making it part of her speech. But that didn’t keep her from breaking into song in front of a crowd at Ottawa’s City Hall.
Grégoire-Trudeau was a special guest speaker at the event, where former Prime Minister Joe Clark received an award for his efforts in the fight against apartheid and for Aboriginal justice.
