MAIDSTONE, Sask. – RCMP have arrested a Saskatchewan man in a string of crude oil thefts that occurred in several municipalities throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Police say large amounts of crude oil were stolen from Maidstone, Sask., Lloydminster, Alta., Cut Knife, Sask., and Kitscoty, Alta.
Sixty-one year-old Bruce Russell Hardy of Lashburn, Sask. has been arrested in relation to the thefts.

Before Hardy was arrested, numerous police agencies including the North Battleford Provincial Investigation Section and other RCMP detachments were involved in a lengthy investigation into the thefts that spanned several months.
Hardy has been charged with seven counts of theft over $5000.
He is scheduled to make his first appearance in court on Feb. 23 in Lloydminster Provincial Court.
