The Site C dam has plenty of opponents – but not surprisingly, there’s no shortage of people who want to work on the project.
Over a thousand people lined up at both the Dawson Creek job fair on Thursday and the Fort St. John fair today.
BC Hydro says the $9 billion mega-project will create 10,000 person-years of employment during its construction, and workers are needed in a number of trades.

There were also job fairs in Tumbler Ridge and Chetwynd this week – but there are five more fairs in the next two weeks:
Prince George – February 22, 12-7 p.m., Coast Inn of the North
Quesnel – February 23, 12-7 p.m., Quesnel Seniors’ Centre
Mackenzie – February 24, 12-7 p.m., Mackenzie Recreation Complex
Fort Nelson – March 2, 12-7 p.m., Woodlands Inn & Suites
Meanwhile, the B.C. Supreme Court is expected to rule next week on a BC Hydro injunction request against campers at Rocky Mountain Fort, who have been blocking construction since the beginning of this year.
The hearing beings on February 22 in Vancouver.
