EDMONTON – The province of Alberta is looking to the east, the Far East, when it comes to tourism.
Travel Alberta, the tourism and marketing arm of the Government of Alberta, recently released a Request for Proposals for a vendor to be its full service agency for Asia, including mainland China, Japan and South Korea. The RFP states the primary focus will be on mainland China.

The vendor will be responsible for marketing program planning and execution, content development, media planning and buying, media and social media as well as technology and development.

Travel Alberta plans to increase tourism revenues $10.3 billion by 2020 and plans to do that “by directing our brand at high-potential markets” and showcasing the province’s “breathtaking landscapes.”

Applications must be received before March 31 and the successful vendor will be selected May 16.
