Summary: With Progressive Conservative MLA Stu Briese not seeking re-election, voters in Agassiz will elect a rookie MLA on April 19.
Boundaries: Agassiz is located in the southwestern region of the province. It is bordered to north by Dauphin, to the south by Spruce Woods, to the west by Riding Mountain and to the east by Lake Manitoba. Communities in the riding include Gladstone, Neepawa, McCreary, Carberry and MacGregor.

Last Election: The PC’s Briese won his second term, defeating NDP candidate Amy Sagness by over 3,300 votes, 70-17 per cent.
History: Agassiz has been a PC riding since 1986, at which time it was won by Glen Cummings. He held the seat until 2007 when he retired. Briese stepped in but in June 2014, he announced that he would not run for re-election in the upcoming provincial election.
