Last Election: Melnick defeated PC challenger Rochelle Squires, who is running again, by over 1400 votes, 55-40 per cent.

History: The riding has been won by the party forming government since 1988—first under PC MLAs Gerry Ducharme and Gary Newman, and then NDP MLAs Melnick and Linda Asper.
