Police investigating suspicious death in Purcell’s Cove

Police are currently at the scene of a suspicious death in Halifax.

Early Saturday morning, Halifax Regional Police officers responded to a call at a home on Oceanview Drive off Purcell’s Cove Road where they located a deceased person inside.

The gender and age of the deceased have not been being released, pending next of kin notification.

Two men were arrested at the home, however, one of them required immediate medical attention and was transported to hospital by EHS for treatment of injuries that aren’t believed to be life-threatening. The other man was transported to Police Headquarters and is currently in custody for questioning.

Investigators in the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are in the preliminary stages of the investigation into this suspicious death. They are in the process of authoring and obtaining a search warrant to allow Forensic Identification Officers to process the scene.
