Halifax Regional Police have ruled the suspicious death of an individual that occurred this weekend in Purcells Cove as a homicide.
Officers were called to a home on Oceanview Drive, just off Purcells Cove Road, shortly before 8 a.m., on Saturday.
Once on scene, police located one person deceased inside the home.
Sunday afternoon, police confirmed the victim was 32-year-old Kristin Elizabeth Johnston and that she was the victim of homicide.

Investigators have not said how Johnston was killed, if a weapon was located or how long she was dead before officers arrived on scene.
“At this point, we’re not releasing any details,” said Theresa Rath, Spokesperson, Halifax Regional Police.
One man was arrested at the home, however, he required immediate medical attention and was transported to hospital by EHS.

Officers released him from their custody Saturday afternoon, pending treatment of his injuries, which are described as significant but non-life-threatening.
“At this point, we’re not looking for anyone else,” said Rath. “The one person in hospital, he does remain a person of interest and there is no other public safety concerns at this point.”
No charges have been laid yet in connection with the homicide.
