A Mexican man has caused a stir on social media after hanging his country’s flag from the roof of the Trump Tower in Vancouver.
Diego Saul Reyna is from Tuxtla Gutiérrez and now lives in B.C. He worked on the construction of the Trump Tower, slated to open some time this year.
In his Facebook post, Reyna said he put the Mexican flag on the roof in protest to the comments Trump has made about Mexican immigrants during the Republican race for US President.
During his presidential campaign kickoff speech last June, Trump portrayed immigrants from Mexico as

“bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people.”
He also called for building a wall along the southern border of the U.S.
Reyna said Mexicans helped build the Trump tower in Vancouver and they deserve recognition for their good work.
“The comments Trump has made about us, did not stop us from doing the high quality work we have always done, in our home country or when we migrate to the US/Canada,” wrote Reyna on Facebook.
