OSHAWA, Ont. — A 25-year-old man from Oshawa, Ont. is facing numerous charges after allegedly assaulting a dog, then driving into a house and causing the front porch to collapse.
Durham Regional Police say the man first allegedly got into an altercation at a local home after becoming angry with a dog.
He allegedly threw a chair at the dog and hit it with a ladder, assaulted the resident of the home, damaged property, then drove away with his own dog.

Police then say he crashed into a nearby home causing the covered porch to cave in, then fled the scene without wearing a shirt and accompanied by his dog.

Police tracked him to his home and arrested him when he arrived on foot.
They allege he was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
Christopher McDonald is now facing six charges including impaired operation, assault and cruelty to animals.
